Last weekends ago Sarah and I went to Nørrebro. Nørrebro is like the Brooklyn of Copenhagen. It is the up and coming, hipster part of town full of trendy shops, delicious food, and ethnic diversity.
Sarah and I stopped for brunch at Cafe Lyst. On the weekends that have two options- their traditional brunch or their "green" brunch (as they call it.) I ordered the traditional breakfast which was one hell of a proper breakfast! YUM. Sarah ordered the "green" breakfast which came with hummus, tomato salad and other more savory, Mediterranean sides.
Scrambled Eggs, Rye and Sourdough Bread, Pancakes, Jam, Fruit, Cheese, and Yogurt with Apple and Ginger Compote. |
There was some sort of block party going on on Jægersbroggade, so after brunch we just walked around and window shopped. We then past by a table set up outside a pottery shop where they were inviting people to make faces out of clay. Sarah and I plopped ourselves down and let our creative juices flow.
We also ate lots of caramels from the artisanal caramel shop and sampled lots of bread from Meyers bakery. Full and happy, we cycled home.
More cyclists than cars stopped at the traffic light!
Love it.
