Foraging

After work on Thursday Justine, Josh, and I went out foraging. We hopped on our bikes, then hopped on a train, and arrived at a forest just beyond the city limits. Unfortunately this forest was more of a public park than a true forest so we did not find as much as we would have liked to but we did walk away with a collection of mushrooms, wood sorrel, and some other herbs I am in the process of identifying.

Pressing the wood sorrel for the herbarium.

I then spent most of Friday trying to identify our foraged goods- both plants and fungi.
We only kept the mushrooms we KNOW to edible. The others we tossed, although next time I am going to collect their spores and look at them under a microscope for a more thorough means of identification.
'Shrooms.
