The Garden Party

Josh, a researcher at the Nordic Food Lab hosted a goodbye party for another intern, Kristen. He invited us all over to his place for a farewell garden party. Josh lives in Hellerup, an extremely wealthy neighborhood in Copenhagen. It is full of huge mansions and lots of money. Contrary to the way everyone else in Hellerup lives, Josh lives in a sort of hippy commune. One of the old mansions was converted into a communal home some time in the 70's. 10 people currently live in the house. They have communal dinners 5 nights a week, raise ducks and chickens, and have a beautiful vegetable garden. Not to mention it's located just three blocks from the ocean!

The house.

Helping to prepare dinner yet another gourmet meal cooked over an open flame out in the garden.

A lemon vinaigrette for the herbilicious salad.

On the menu:
pan con tomates
grilled eggplant and squash
foil wrapped potatoes
foil wrapped-grilled cauliflower
burgers and sausages
pork loin
foie gras
salad
home made bread

and wine of course.

and then there were good old American s'mores

But of course no foodie party is complete without a foie s'more

It's always exciting when foreigners experience their first s'more!

Fabulous food, fantastic location, terrific company, and a great time had by all!!
